Ambio Reader — Terms of Service

These terms ("Terms") govern your use of Ambio Reader, the mobile application provided by Ambio ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. These Terms apply only to Ambio Reader; other Ambio products have their own terms.

1. Eligibility and account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Ambio Reader. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.

2. The service

Ambio Reader is an immersive ebook reader. It lets you read your own EPUB and PDF books and plays AI-generated ambient soundscapes that match the scenes you're reading. The reader and its soundscapes are provided as-is and may evolve over time.

3. Your content

The books you import remain yours. You're responsible for ensuring you have the rights to read and store any content you bring into the app. Ambio Reader does not provide books and does not grant any rights to copyrighted material you don't already own.

4. Subscriptions and purchases

Some features require an active subscription. Subscriptions are sold and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Pricing, billing, renewal, and refunds are handled by the store under their respective terms. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your store account at any time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app.
  • Use the service for unlawful or infringing purposes.
  • Attempt to interfere with or compromise the integrity of the service.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app without our written consent.

6. Intellectual property

The Ambio name, the Ambio Reader product, the app, this website, and all original content (excluding user-imported books) are the property of Ambio and are protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial reading.

7. Termination

You may stop using Ambio Reader at any time and delete your account from inside the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that harms others or the service itself.

8. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ambio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to the service or terms

We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; if we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the app.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Poland.
